Holidays.. and even more exams :(

Tue Jun 30, 2009, 10:16 AM
So i bummed out in an exam or two. pleh re-sits! oh well, summer's here, got a crap load of photos im in the process of editing etc. Just trying to get a bit of money together for a new lense and filter for le camera. thinking of getting the clip on raynox macro lens and either the telephoto or the fisheye lense for £300... need to get a job first and generate moneage. getting a bit of cash working with family and doing some photoshoots for them... reading books of course. But mostly surfing on the internet. Going to start drawing the next set of comic strips and im working on some marvel fanart, nothing huge, but apparently it's funny. *shrugs*

1. "The Wasp Factory" by Iain Banks - :star::star::star::star::star:
Twas an awesome book.

2."Storm Front" by Jim Butcher - :star::star::star::star:
Also really good, about a sarcastic magician living in Chigago, (however i feel it lacks a little something) currently reading the next book in the series: "Fool Moon"

3."Oath Breaker" by Michelle Paver- :star::star::star::star::star:
AWESOME! if your into that sorta thing, 1 book to go in that series :D can't wait!

4."Breaking Dawn" by Stephanie Myers - :star::star::star::star::star:
Yes it was amazing, i think everyone already knows it's a controversal book.

5."Fool Moon" by Jim Butcher - :star::star::star::star::star:
Really good book. better than the last one. All the awesome sarcasm and randomness ^_^

25."A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess - :star::star::star:
Meh it was amazing until the end, where the book let me down, badly. so 3 for that one... I know it's a cult classic, but the ending was, in my opinion, crap. (sorry)

--- "I Am Ledgend" by Richard Matheson. - :star::star::star:
It started off good except the main character was mainly obsessed with getting laid... and then it got alot better, and then it fell flat on it's face at the end... i'm going to be harsh and give it 3 :P

14."Sense and Sensibility." by Jane Austine - :star::star::star::star::star:
wonderful! absolutly loved it! it was a bit pedantary at points but the ending gave it a nice round ending that Jane Austin always gives :)

--- "Orcs" by Stan Nicholson - :star::star::star::star:
For me it was a crappier verson of Tad Williams, which is pretty ace. Tad W. rox! but the whole thing was basically an action packed book with tonnes of fighting...

16."The Spook's Mistake" by Joseph Delaney- :star::star::star::star::star:
Amazing! i cant wait for the next installment. Call me a fantasy addict as that's what i am.. but it was a damn good book :)

-----Charlie Bone and the Shadow of Badlock by Jenny Nimmo - :star::star::star::star:
Eeep! awesome :) except some parts were totally obvious to adults, she's slipping a bit :(

8."Good Omens" by Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman - :star::star::star:
Really great book, although the ending was a slight let down but wow! great book. I'd recomend it to everyone, well anyone with a sense of humor.

28."From the Corner of His Eye" by Dean Konntz - :star::star::star:
ok, it was AWESOME! until a few chapters to the end... and then it just got cheesy... super powers are ok if you know how to play them but Koontz isnt one of them, he tries to merge fantasy with real life and he half pulls it off then flops at the end. although most of the book is ace! which is why it's getting 3. otherwise i would have given it 0.

34. Grave Peril by Jim Butcher - :star::star::star::star::star:
again... another awesome addition to the series, the middle got a bit dry but the ending was worth it! :D

----- Coraline by Neil Gaiman - :star::star::star::star:and a half
This was a pretty awesome book, altho. it's not my favorite by Neil Gaiman. I don't really like that type of book so therefore not a good judge. But it was an interesting book with a great story and plot development. Reminds me of mirror mask.

----- The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman- :star::star::star::star::star::star:
OMGKANE KLNSDGFKLN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This book has gone straight to my favorite books of all time list!! A must must must read for all neil gaiman fans.... wonderfully enchanting story. LOVED IT!

----- Calibain's Hour by Tad Williams -:star::star::star::star:
I only give it 4 star as i cant apreicate it properly, as i've never read the tempest by shakespear. This book, is just as good as all of tad william's works! Beautifully rendered story that takes place in one night and tells of a lifetime...

15."Artimus Fowl and the Time Paradox." by Eoin Colfer- :star::star::star::star:
If you enjoyed the previous Artemis Fowl Books you'll love this one aswell. Just as awesome as before :) Altho, it left me wanting a smidge.

----- "Company of Liars" by Karen Maitland - :star::star::star::star::star:
This is a book about the plauge, and rather refreshing actually. Mailtland is a new author who's just published her second novel- "The Owl Killers" I'm looking forward to picking up a copy. Her writting style leaves you hungering for more and her characters feel so real you can almost reach out and touch them. A brilliant book.

----- That's all the books i've read so far the next ones are ones i'm planning to read soon ------------------------------

6."Perfect Match" by Jodi Picoult
7."The Whisperer in Darkness." by H.P.Lovecraft
9."Smoke and Mirrors" by Neil Gaiman
10."BhuddhaDa" by Anne Donovan
